As I write this, I’m heading into my first week ever as a Golden Ticket holder to the Kentucky Bourbon Affair. What is that you may ask? Well, it’s best described as the Willy Wonka experience for the bourbon enthusiast. A bourbon “Fantasy Camp” as they market, which runs from Tuesday through Sunday Morning. It is jam-packed with some of the most desirable VIP bourbon experiences you can find. Day and night, you have first choice of over 40 unique events. And, as a Golden Ticket holder, you can pick events first and attend every day.

In the two years prior to this one, I attended just a couple of events each. Let me tell you, as a bourbon fan and educator, I had an absolute blast! The people you meet, and the experiences you have are at another level than just your local bourbon event. It’s like a Who’s Who community, and the returning veterans have become a tight knit family that stay in touch throughout the year. Everyone eagerly looks forward to getting back together for the next leg of this brown water adventure. I’m very much looking forward to this year and taking it ALL in. I’ll be documenting my experiences as I go, and taking a lot of pictures along the way. I hope to share back with you my takeaways and give you the highlights of the journey!
